Work Package 1

Development of the NOVO hardware

———

This work package (WP1) aims to achieve a breakthrough in fast neutron (FN) and prompt gamma (PG) imaging by developing a cutting-edge detector system utilizing emerging technologies and knowledge transfer from CERN's high-energy physics research. By prioritizing factors such as low maintenance, ease of clinical integration, and cost-effectiveness alongside physical performance, the project involves prototyping detector modules with advanced organic scintillators and electronics. Led by partners including BOUN, HZDR, TUBITAK BILGEM, and Target, the development leverages the consortium’s expertise in data acquisition systems to create an optimized technical solution characterized at international neutron source facilities.
